Hello! My name is Leah Ross. My students call me Mrs. Ross. I am an English Language Arts teacher at Freedom High School. I received both my bachelor's (in English) and master's (in Teaching) from Lenoir-Rhyne University; I had the privilege of being named a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. I am also a PROUD Freedom High School graduate. I created this section on the website so that you may know more about me in hopes that you will feel more comfortable contacting me if you need to do so.
Above is a collage of photos that I think describe me and what my life is, but I am also going to tell you about myself. I am married to Steve; he's an engineer. My family is one of the most important parts of my life; I love spending time with them. I enjoy spending time at the beach with my husband and family. I enjoy everything Disney, and playing piano is a cathartic activity for me. That said, I feel thankful for every good blessing I've received in my life and try to begin each day with a grateful heart! And one of those things for which I am grateful includes educating the young minds at Freedom High School.
Students, my hope for you is that you become an "expert" on the literature and content that we will study, that you know that you are not in this experience alone, and that you succeed at the projects that we tackle together. But more than anything, I hope you take the skills and ideas that we learn about in this classroom and apply them to other areas of life and school.
Parents and Guardians, I feel more than honored to have the chance to return home to teach at Freedom, and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to spend a semester with your student. If you have any questions or comments, click the "Parents/Guardians" tab above, where there is a link to a communication form that I will receive.
Go Patriots!
